Today the parents, friends and family were invited to see the Key stage one production of the Jolly Postman here at Isamilo's main hall. The children have been rehearsing for weeks, and were able to perform this week to other schools as well as other year groups up the school. 

The children worked the microphones and the music made the audience sway, tinsel on the bike for the postman and a whole ray of colour and costumes to brighten up the stage. The songs were sung with great cheer and enthusiasm, with some excellent narrating by Year two. 

The Jolly Postman follows an unnamed mail carrier as he delivers letters by bicycle to characters from traditional children's stories that are well known in Britain. Following each sheet of narrative verse and illustration, there is one shaped like an envelope and containing one of the postman's deliveries. Each envelope is opened and its enclosure read at that point in the story. This adaptation was perfect for the Christmas show to include Mary, Joseph  an and the famous little donkey, cows and lambs not forgetting the three wise men. 

A fabulous way to end 2022, congratulations to all the staff that helped produce a 5 star production. Now for a well earned break.
